Columbia Records signed Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Thelonious Monk and Charles Mingus across a run that defined post-war jazz. Outside North America, the same catalogue was released under the CBS name (a trademark distinction, not a separate label), and Japanese, European and Australian pressings carry that imprint. This collection brings both together: US Columbias, international CBS pressings, and reissues from across the label's jazz catalogue.
