This double vinyl reissue captures the full scope of the drummer's vision, blending Afrobeat, jazz-funk and hip hop into a deeply personal statement about Black musical heritage and its infinite possibilities.

Across 20 tracks, Dayes leads an extraordinary cast of collaborators through a sonic journey that moves from the explosive energy of "Afro Cubanism" to the orchestral beauty of "Magnolia Symphony" and the laid-back groove of "Gelato". The album features remarkable contributions from Tom Misch, Chronixx, Masego and the Chineke! Orchestra, alongside stellar performances from bassist Rocco Palladino, saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings and guitarist Miles James.

What makes Black Classical Music so compelling is its refusal to be confined. Dayes draws from jazz tradition while embracing Afrobeat polyrhythms, Brazilian percussion, UK jazz innovation and contemporary production techniques.
