Recorded at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs and produced by Creed Taylor, the album features contemporary pop hits including two Beatles compositions ("A Day In The Life", "Eleanor Rigby"), Percy Sledge's "When A Man Loves A Woman", and The Association's "Windy" alongside jazz standards. Supported by Herbie Hancock on piano, Ron Carter on bass, Grady Tate on drums, Ray Barretto on percussion, and Sebesky's full orchestra including strings, woodwinds, French horn, and harp, Montgomery's guitar remains the focal point despite the elaborate production. Released in Japan in 1976 as part of the A&M-CTI Jazz Series and distributed by King Record Co. Ltd., this limited edition captures Montgomery's final period before his untimely death in 1968.
