Stanley Clarke (born 1951), acoustic/electric bass virtuoso and fusion pioneer, co-founded Return to Forever with Chick Corea. He helped make the bass a lead voice with percussive slap and lyrical melodies. Landmark releases include solo classic School Days and RTF’s Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy, No Mystery and Romantic Warrior. A multi-GRAMMY winner and prolific film/TV composer.
