Jeff Parker (born 1967), guitarist-composer of Chicago’s post-rock/jazz vanguard (Tortoise; AACM associate), splices jazz harmony with hip-hop loops, electronics and chamber-like lyricism. Highlights include The New Breed (2016), the Billboard-topping Suite for Max Brown (2020), the solo set Forfolks (2021), the live Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy, and ETA IVtet’s The Way Out of Easy (2024).
