Trumpet and Vocals | b. [year unconfirmed]

Audrey Powne writes, sings and produces jazz-soul songs with a trumpet voice that sits low in the mix and close to the vocal line. Educated at Monash University and shaped by Melbourne’s jazz and soul scene, she released the self-issued Bed I Made (2020) before signing to BBE and recording From the Fire (BBE, 2024), on which she wrote, produced and arranged the strings herself. Her quartet Aura contributed to Gilles Peterson’s Sunny Side Up compilation for Brownswood, and her 2026 follow-up Bodies of Water (BBE) extends the same blend of jazz, soul and Afrobeat influences. She now works from the UK, where she has played Ronnie Scott’s.
