Alice Coltrane

Alice Coltrane (1937–2007), pianist, harpist and composer, shaped spiritual jazz with shimmering harp, modal harmony and devotional depth. After late-’60s work with John Coltrane, she created landmarks—Ptah, the El Daoud, Journey in Satchidananda, Universal Consciousness, World Galaxy. She later led the Sai Anantam Ashram, releasing devotional music as Swamini Turiyasangitananda.
