Jazz-Afrobeat-Hip Hop Collective (2011-present, Leeds/London)

Formed in 2011 at Leeds College of Music, led by guitarist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Tom Excell. Drummer Finn Booth, Excell's childhood friend, joined, along with percussionist Pilo Adami, Excell's roommate from a Brazilian-based ensemble. Original vocalist Nubiya Brandon provided soulful vocals. The multicultural, multi-ethnic collective features both Black and white members. Their sound blends jazz, hip-hop, Afrobeat, Latin, soul, reggae, Indian classical, gnawa, soukous, and electronic dance music.
